I am an Ontario Senator from Toronto. I have been keenly interested in parliamentary matters such as financial accountability, ministerial responsibility to Parliament, parliamentary supremacy, and the proper relationship between the Cabinet, Parliament and the Courts. I believe that parliamentary governance is the highest achievement of world constitutionalism.
I have also worked in the field of family law, particularly marriage and divorce. Divorce terminates the relationship between spouses, but not between those spouses and their children. I am deeply committed to the notion that after divorce, the children have an entitlement to meaningful involvement with both parents, both mothers and fathers. I am also concerned that ill-conceived public policy dispossesses children of their fathers.
