Gay Marriage: A house divided same-sex issue treads onto commons ground (The Calgary Sun)


Senator Anne Cools, a staunch opponent of gay marriage, expects her Liberal counterparts will fall in line when it comes to a vote.

But she vows to ensure a "nice, big fat fight" in the run-up.

"One would hope that some would bow to some recognition of the public mind and the public will," she said.

"I hope that some will understand that this is a result that is being foisted upon Canadians by the government of Canada in lockstep with a small number of judges, and that there's no real demand from the public for it."
