MOFFAT MEDIATION FAILS
A brief attempt to mediate the Moffat Farm dispute failed yesterday, sending all parties involved back to the Ontario Municipal Board.
The NCC hasn't shown interest in the city's offer to buy Moffat Farm for the parkland value of $400,000. Were the land rezoned for building, it could fetch more than $10 million.
Playing a major role in the conflict is the Moffat Farm Citizens' Coalition, a local group which opposes the development and has recruited Liberal Sen. Anne Cools for their fight. She said yesterday the NCC should abide by the city's decision.
